ETG 6933 Lectures

I will be recording regular lectures as part of this course. In addiition you will be viewing lectures from various world leaders. Sites I make heavy use of is http://www.ted.com/  and http://www.pbs.org/. Topics will be clustered around various topical themes. An understanding of these topical themes is designed to allow the student to gather information and make informed decisions and predictions in the technology field.

Understanding of Technology

This topical area is just to gain a basic understanding what technology is and how it evolves.

Ray Kurweil on Acceleration of Technology

Kevin Kelly on How Technology Evolves

Technology Lifecycle

These are lectures on how technology moves from basic science to a usable product.

Data Collection and Analysis

These are a collection of leaders in using data collection and analysis to derive conclusions based on data.

Steve Gourley - Physiscist - Data Analysis of War

Bruce Bueno de Mesuita - Predicting Large Scale Human Behavior

Hans Rosling Visualizing Statistics

Technology Impacts

What is happening now in technology and what impact does it have on our day to day lives. These video's and lectures are only examples as the true impact of technology is very deep.

Historical Technology Advances

Many technologies have reached a high level of maturity. These video's and lectures explore some of these technologies and what they have meant as they have reached a higher level of design maturity.
